At the crossroads of my future, I'm faced with many directions. My exams are over and I'm waiting to see if I will be accepted at university. Which course will I complete? Who will I become? Will I be happy? Many feel like this, as if they are in a position of uncertainty, it is normal, but it's very unsettling. I have chosen to give myself no eyes. This, I once heard, was how dolls were once made in parts of eastern Europe. It was meant to prevent a doll from possessing an identity which was not hers. It enabled the doll to be her true self without a predetermined future created by someone else. She could be anyone she wanted. |
